I think Zells charge, that the dem. party had a plan to discredit GW, regardless of the cost to national security, was a real bombshell, and needs to be answered by not only Kerry, but the dems leaders. There have always been charges, of unpatriotic behavior by the far left, but now, that charge has been leveled at the dem. leadership, by one of their own. And if one believes all of the polls, the bomb has done immense damage.

I totally agree with this statement. If the shoe were on the other foot the media would be going nuts with it.

The reversal of trends on the polls, if it continues, will lead to a GW trouncig of Kerry, possibly bigger than Dukakis, and will lead to a big time introspection, if not cleaning house.

I believe the Democrat party is beyond repair and will collapse from within if Kerry gets trounced. At a minimum, you're going to have more moderate Democrats making an effort (successful, I suspect) to reclaim the party from the extremists. While the agenda of extremism may be important, these people will give up their principles in a New York minute if required to get in power again.
