You are out to lunch in believing that NDP governments have won all over Canada. If that's the case the ruling party is the NDP. This is not the case. The Liberals under Paul Martin are in power, not the NDP!

I personally don't like the NDP and the Liberals for being so quick to hand out freebies, even to the lazy and unproductive dregs of society. But I am also not enthusiastic about the Conservatives either. Because of the horrendous amounts of freebies given out, Canadians, except for the big corporations and big businesses, are taxed heavily with little money left to spend.

If you think Canada alone is weird in this regard, look no further than across the pond: Britain and several European countries are fast sliding down the slippery slope of social welfare.
