My Mom used to live 12 miles south of launch pad 39 at the Cape, and about 30 miles north of where the eye of Frances went ashore. She moved to Nawlins about 15 years ago and died there in 1996. The worst weather she was ever in was in N.O. one year. Some hurricane came by in the Gulf. Her move was a clear case of jumping from the frying pan into the fire. She wasn't hurt except her car drowned. It's strange how nature intervenes on her own schedule. I lived in CA 25 years (1977 => 2002) and the worst earthquakes I remember ever being in were one in Burlington Iowa as a 2 or 3 yr old during WWII and the 2nd one was Effingham, IL in 1969 when I lived in Mt. Vernon, IL.

Good luck to all of you yet to feel the effects of Frances. Could be a hell of a lot of rain in a hell of a large area before she finally runs out of energy.
