Isn't the whole electoral college idea to prevent the tyranny of the majority ? Now bear in mind I'm a Canuck so I won't weigh in on the merits of your respective presidential candidates as we have enough problems up here... but.. we've been suffering up here from first past the post and out seat system allowing majorities elected with as little as 39% of popular vote... yes we have more vote splitting I guess than you guys...
