David Re... OT Sun I just think the time for the hardware they're known for has largely passed. Just my 2c worth... Sure it has, but that would be true of any companies products. The trick is to emphasis new products. And your answer sort of touched on the answer, Java and Solaris. We all thought low end opteron servers would be the death knell for Sparc, however, from the Gatner report, both 86-64 and Sparc sales have surged, possibly only because Sun can sell a complete z86 or Sparc system, running the same software, and it doesn't rely upon Windows, which can be unreliable, and infected, more easily.
