Combjelly Re...that vote against the 87 bil., shows support." He voted for the bill when it would have been partially offset by rolling some tax cuts back. He then voted against it when the taxt rollback was eliminated.
Call me stupid, but just how does this show support for our troops. Its a silly excuse, which doesn't hold water. Who cares about the taxes, at a time the troops need the supplies. Let me give you an analogy. If your dad was on the operating table, and the surgeons were waiting for your okay, such that you had secured the money to pay for the operation, would you say "Not yet, I need to get a lower rate; you guys charge too much and my payments would be too high with my current financing." Wouldn't you just explode if someone accused you of being like that. Yet that is what Kerry is saying. I don't care how many of you get killed in the meantime, I need to negotiate payments first. Kerry should have just sent the damn money, and worried about how to pay for it later.
An appropriations bill that, it has to be noted, if the Administration had been more realistic, as many kept telling them, would not have been needed.
True. So???????
Sending troops to battle with insufficient armor is pretty criminal, you have to admit.
Before the war started in March-03, Bush asked the commanders, if there was anything else they needed, and they said no. Later it was found out, the troops had insufficient armor. That armor was included in that bill Kerry so cavalierly vetoed. Bush has an excuse, he wasn't told by his commanders; what is Kerry's excuse.
If you want to bring up stuff before he was elected, well, Bush is pretty vulnerable there. So is Cheney and his "other concerns"....
Really. You mean there is more dirt about Cheney and GW, for your compadres to dig up, that hasn't been dug and thrown after 4 yrs of digging. Maybe you need a bigger backhoe. Kerry's trouble is that the skeletons Kerry normally would have in his closet, are too big for any conceivable closet; and are out in the open, waiting for anyone to pick up and toss at him. |
