To All, ........................................................ I live in the Chicago area but was away for some time. As I was reading the old editions of the Chicago Tribune,I came across the Business section of Aug 20th(Wednesday)it had a article "The merchants hit hard, catalog firms and retailers learned to cope". Well I will get to the point,it had this to say about APAC.......Perhaps the biggest local loser from the UPS strike was APAC teleservices, the Deerfield outsourcing company that provides customer service at UPS telephone call centers. APAC lost an estimated $6 million during the strike and was forced to lay off employees who handled UPS calls, according to Wall Street analysts. ......But that negative could turn into a big positive with the strikes end. UPS is likley to need more APAC employees than ever as it attempts to rebuild its reputation for customer service. Most analysts who cut APAC's 1997 and 98 earnings estimates brought them back Tuesday. During the strike, APAC's stock fell as low as 14.37. But Tuesday, It rebounded 1.56 a share to $16.06. APAC executives couldn't be reached for comment..........Well that is what the Chicago Tribune had to say. Hope this info is useful, Good Luck.......RR
