Regardless of whether it is caused by man, or whether we can do anything about it, you have the following questions:

(1) is it real? and if so
(2) what should we be doing to prepare for it?

The republican party will answer the first question "no," and thus never get to the second question (regardless of the future costs of ignoring the problem) because the party is in the pockets of the very entities who profit the most from ignoring the problem.

Thus, whether it is caused by man, or we can do anything to prevent it, isn't terribly relevant while republicans control the agenda.
