Bill - Re: "Does AMD have a product that competes with the PENTIUM II ? "

No.

AMD's K6 is for all intents and purposes a direct competitor to the Pentium MMX.

AMD afficionados will argue this - but check AMD's latest pricing. They altered the K6 pricng to give them a 25% advantage over Intels' new Pentium MMX pricing.

As for socket compatibility, lack of SMP support, etc., K6 and Pentium MMX are competitors. From a performance standpoint, the K6 and Pentium MMX compete well with each other on most benchmarks - the K6 wins some, the Pentium MMX wins some.

We hope to be there on Friday, and stay through Labor Day.
