GG,

Yes, its modular nature makes it suitable for a range of Telecom applications. However, it isn't a solution to the occasional long power outage. The four-hour requirement for the in-place capabilities has been used for many years and may not be appropriate today. However, regardless, there is a need to provide for the full range of outages and it is clearly not economical to provide in each installation for the longest outage.

Today, motor generators are used when the outage exceeds the capability of the local back-up power. As I think I have said before, the Redox technology permits one the think of providing charged electrolyte just like one provides fuel as needed. Eliminating the need to provide noisy motor generators is a real plus. Of course the main advantages are greater reliability and lower cost
