Ted, I suspect honest debate escapes you completely.
I have no problem with the mainstream media being liberal. It's the fact that they have to hide it that bothers me. Kind of like Kerry's Senate record.
Its funny how you accuse people of hiding issues that are a matter of public record. You do realize that both the items you claim are 'hidden' are in full view of the public? In fact, they are not hidden at all and your comment sounds a bit strident.
By the way, I remember when Al and "independent" JF got on my case for continually calling the media "liberal."
As for the media being liberal, we've discussed this before.......its a matter of perspective. When you are sitting on the far right, everyone looks pretty liberal. But once you get closer to the center that perspective changes radically.
Then this admission comes out, and I still haven't received an apology from either one.
What kind of apology do you expect? JF has you on ignore so why would you expect an apology at all from him. The editor of one publication says they prefer Kerry and you think the entire media world is liberal.
In fact, several publications that you would call liberal have come out and said they gave Bush a pass for the war and on other issues. One of the them, the WA Post, in fact, is fairly conservative. So why would I apologize because Newsweek admits they like Kerry. You know.....you really can't win with you guys.
The Seattle Times endorsed Bush for president in 2000. This year they are picking Kerry. Immediately, the Seattle Times was condemned for being a liberal paper; that their choice was to be expected. In fact, it was not expected.......the owner of the Times is fairly conservative. His choice of Bush in 2000 was expected. His choice of Kerry this year was unexpected.......and it speaks volumes.
In fact, more and more conservative groups are picking Kerry over Bush.......important scientists, nobel prize winners, diplomats, military leaders etc. They are all concerned with the policies and nature of this presidency. But those tax cuts are a hard tonic to overcome. The people want so badly to get more of Bush so the money will keep rolling in. He gives them the slightest excuse to like him and they come running. Cha-ching! Cha-ching! Cha-ching!
Don't worry, though. I'm not expecting one from you, since you weren't afraid to admit that you prefer the media to be liberal.
Afaid to admit that "I prefer the media to be liberal"? Now that's funny. What I want is the media to be fair. And for the most part they are......the mainstream media.......the ones that sit in the center. Unfortunately, in an attempt to be fair, they went along with Bush's misrepresentation and got us into a war that's a quagmire. That's a problem with fairness......you sometimes forget to call a spade a spade.
