Why make it more painful than need be? Is there a rule? I do not think that the American people are just taking it as entertainment, in any event. If anything, letting the country go along without full homeland mobilization has made it harder to conduct the war, because people are not fully rallied, and therefore lose morale easily, as they watch news against a backdrop of apparent normality.
