The point is we are a sovereign. Bush recognizes it. The Left doesn't. There are a lot of us who believe the UN has had far too much power over the United States foreign policy.

That's the macho ingnorance that's so intolerable about conservative view points. In a world in which we are a miniscule minority, the cooperation of nations is irrefutably key to success against terror. One works to strengthen such alliances, not mock them or tear them down for temporary gain. Bush mocked the UN during the run up to war. This was not lost on member nations, even tiny ones, who should have been easily brought to support the US position, refused to be seen as pawns of an over-reaching US. That speaks volumes of the thoughtless approach of the bush foreign policy. Now he would have us believe that he has reformed and softened his views. You can't put lipstick on a pig and pass it for anything other than what it is.

This attitude of his comes from pure ignorance and stupidity, and the rest of us have to endure it. I have traveled extensively throughout Europe. Wherever I went I was taken in by Europeans.........Germans, Danes, Swiss, Brits, French etc......they may not have agreed with US politics but they loved us as Americans. Now, this Neanderthal who didn't even know who the PM of Canada is and who thinks a trip overseas means going to Mexico has been allowed to redefine our relationship with Europe. Occasionally, one has to take a step back to be able to go forward but Bush has taken us back a hundred years. It infuriates me to know end.
