We suffered no physical damage, but the power was off for almost 48 hours, and we lost some food from the refrigerator. There was more flooding in the county than the old timers had ever seen before, and I don't know if that has subsided yet, or not.

On the plus side, I heard a report on the radio to the effect that the rain from the hurricanes helps replenish the aquifers from which much of Florida gets its drinking water.

This isn't to minimize the damage from the storms, but to note that they do have at least one positive effect.
