A pitcher gives up 10 runs in the ninth inning ..... ......... and his team goes behind by 2 runs. What happens? Out comes the manager with a hook. The pitcher (Bush) says: "I got us into this mess. I'll get us out." The manager says: "I got a guy in the bullpen right now." The pitcher (Bush) says: "But Skip, we don't know how good that guy is in the bullpen." The manager says: "Get the hell out of here. I don't care how good he is. I don't care if he has a plan. I don't care if he flip flops between fast balls, change up, curves, and sliders. He's not you." Doesn't anybody get it? When you create a jam, you need to go to a relief pitcher. Creating the jam doesn't mean you have to be permitted to attempt to get your ass out of it. /john
