Yeah, if there's anything I hate it's the TYRANNY of the majority.

Spotted.Cat...when they first came up with the electoral college I think there were about 13 states with reasonably equal populations.

I think the electoral college was in part a logistics thing. Voting results were not easily accumulated and deciphered. Breaking it down into a state by state responsibilty seemed efficient and representative of the times.

I don't think the founding fathers thought that small population centers should disproportionately affect election results, which happened in the last election to some extent, and which, theoretically could happen to an egregious extent in this and future elections.
