Speaking of 527, I just saw an ad this weekend by Moveon.org which ended with "I am voting for John Kerry". You can't get any more blatant than that. This campaign finance reform law is just completely ridiculous. It should be scrapped. McCain knows it is broken, but blames FEC, not the law itself.

Now, how would it look if FEC (I don't know who appoints them) shut down all these groups? We wouldn't be able to hear the end of the whining from the left.

The bottom line is that regulating political advertising and policing of it, is just not going to work. The money will find its way through. Why not just let it go to the candidates themselves, in an amounts not limited by any law, and then, we at least will get to hear "I approve of this message", which, BTW, I like.
