If you don't have insurance, you don't have a mortgage. And most of the folks that live on the water can afford insurance.

The cost of FEMA disaster assistance, bringing in food, water and ice is probably picked up by the tax payer.

Yes, there is a Federal cost, but I don't think it is huge... probably less than the cost of a day in the war in Iraq.


Actually, John, it may be a little more than that..........I think FEMA spent $25 billion in LA after the quake.
