Okay, just an idea for the new marketing guy. Meanwhile it would be nice to see an 8 page ad in the WSJ similar to the ad run today by Sun. In it I would like to see the Border Manager introduction so everyone will know that this product alone is worth $500 a share!!

Novell Rallies Developers With 'Get Off Your Apps!' Contest and Java, NDS Workshop Tours
Developers Can Win Custom Harley Davidson, Loaded Computer Systems by Leveraging NDS to Build Secure, Manageable Networked Applications
JAVA INTERNET BUSINESS EXPO, NEW YORK, Aug. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- ``Get off your apps, developers!'' is Novell, Inc.'s (Nasdaq:NOVL) new rallying cry as the company today announced its NDS(TM) (Novell Directory Services(TM)) application development contest and Technology Builders Workshop Series, featuring Java and NDS/LDAP. The ``Get Off Your Apps!'' contest is designed to bring visibility to and highlight the value of building directory-enabled applications with NDS, the world's leading directory service for intranet/Internet application development. In addition, the contest also provides developers with a forum to showcase their solutions.
``Get Off Your Apps!'' kicks off two simultaneous month-long Java and NDS training tours throughout the United States and Canada. The one-day workshops will provide developers with the tools and training needed to build NDS or Java applications, taking advantage of the increasing market opportunities that directory-enabled and Java-based cross-platform applications offer.
Building network-aware applications that rely on NDS offers developers many advantages including shorter development time, increased functionality and integration between applications, and ease of development through familiar tools and application programming interfaces (APIs) like LDAP. In addition, NDS-enabled applications ease user access to UNIX, NT and NetWare(R) networks with single sign-on capabilities.

Technology Builders Workshop Series Featuring Java and NDS
The Java and NDS workshops -- scheduled from September 3 to October 2, 1997 -- are intended to prepare developers to take advantage of the tremendous business potential for directory-enabled and cross-platform applications. The NDS workshop features training on the universal network services that businesses and developers need to leverage the power of networking. In addition, the workshop will provide an overview of nearly all technologies associated with NDS including the following:
How to use industry standards and directory interfaces such as the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) and Microsoft's Active Directory Service Interface (ADSI) A variety of development platforms and tools (e.g., ActiveX, C, Delphi, Java, RAD and Visual Basic) for building directory-enabled applications How NDS resembles X.500 directory development How NDS works with the various protocols and interfaces that access the directory (e.g., DAP, LDAP and NDAP)
The Java workshop includes an overview of the important roles Java and objects play in rapidly building robust networked applications. Participants will also learn how to design and build Java solutions that reduce the cost of developing, deploying and supporting business-critical Java applications. The workshop will also include information on how Novell is advancing the cross-platform language and development environment.
