ken i believe we went through national guard and how they operate months ago. many people in national guard are civilians who perform multiple tasks to make a living while in the guard. For various reasons they may be excused from meetings and make them up later. executives get transferred to another part of the country. it may take months to get into another guard unit. some professionals go on special assignments and may work out of the area not returning home for several months. They make up the drills at a later date. In cases of making up drills is consists of attendance not doing your military job as it may not be available at the location you make up the drill. These people lives do not stop for the six years they are in the guard. if kerry continues on people in guard as not serving their country he is on the wrong track. He is going to lose more votes ,, many many never even went into the guard or army reserve. I expect like Kerry, Cheney they kept trying to get draft deferred, kerry was refused by draft board, cheney got another deferment. It's not like Kerry joined navy reserve out of the goodness of his heart. He did it when his deferrments ran out.
