The only person I know who illegally refused to obey the draft and possibly go to Vietnam is the former President of the United States, William Jefferson Clinton. A Democrat, as were the ones led us into the war, and then prolonged it. Many others fled to our friends in Canada and were welcomed, with open arms as they are today, along with the Islamic terrorists. Others mentioned, such as VP Cheney, George W. Bush, and one could include Joe Liberman, Dick Gephart, and a host of others obeyed the law of the time and received legal deferments, as did John Kerry. The list is long. Since Mr. Kennedy claims he enlisted, he has no complaint coming against those who had legal deferments but did not volunteer to go. Clinton was officially a draft dodger who deserved a very long term in jail, but, of course, he fled to Russia where, as did Kerry, he demonstrated against his country, giving comfort to the enemy, prolonging the war and causing untold more deaths and torture to the prisoners held by the North Vietnamese. I suggest Mr. Kennedy, as a forepiece for his book, obtain a photo of the Wall of Heroes in Vietnam prominently displaying John Kerry's and Jane Fonda's pictures with others that aided the North's cause. Maybe Mr. Kennedy can also confirm the 2 million, or more deaths of the local citizenry since we left the country to Hanoi John and friends. Maybe he can also explain how Kerry's cousins firm received such a huge contact from Vietnam. Influence from Hanoi John Fonda. Nah! Couldn't happen. Could it? Maybe his book can also explain why Hanoi John wanted a settlement with Vietnam without disclosure of prisoners still held, or our MIA? Many families, at the time, were very disheartened with Kerry's actions Re: the MIA and prisoners. Inquiring minds want know. I look forward to Mr. Kennedy's book. But not much. He better get it published quickly as after Nov.2 it will be a non-seller with Kerry gone.
