They are idiots, they have run a terrible campaign and can't work there way out of the republicans control of the message they are trying to relate to the public

I agree with the first part of your comment
but differ on the second part.

The fact that the Democrats have run a poor campaign is
the reason they have not gotten a message across.

The secondary reason is that they're simply not sure what
they want the message to be.

The underlying reason is that, beginning with the primaries, the essential message was anti-Bush rather
than pro-whatever-platform/message-du-jour they wanted
to emphasize.

In short, to be POTUS, one has to have leadership
qualities and at least some heartfelt beliefs.

This is where Kerry is lacking.
To the extent he holds such beliefs,
they simply don't resonate with the
majority of the country. He's therefore
been forced to be inconsistent in his
pronouncements, depending on the particular
audience at hand.

That's a real problem.

Inability to run a cogent campaign is also,
at least to me, indicative of an inability
to lead.............
