The NY Times has become a Democratic propaganda rag.

A sad decline for a once-great newspaper. The focus on Vietnam-era military service will hurt Kerry far more than Bush. Bush's service foibles, if any, are more technical than substantive, devoid of striking any emotional chord. Bush never claimed to be a war-hero. He did more than many others who avoided service altogether. The attack on Bush will be seen as mean-spirited, a last-ditch effort to smear him. It will cost Kerry the high moral ground that he might otherwise have claimed for respecting various ways of fulfilling military obligations. Meanwhile, it provides ample justification for the continued exposing of Kerry's wildly exaggerated claims of being a "wounded war hero" himself. Not even to mention his anti-American activities that followed.

This Vietnam issue is a total loser for Kerry and the Democrats, not Bush, and it plays right into the Republicans' hands.
