I watched "60 Minutes". Not much there. Most of us would not be shocked to learn that a string or two was pulled on Bush's behalf, with or without his knowledge. It is not dead certain, though, considering that Barnes has a senior position in the Kerry campaign, and thus is a dubious witness. The White House response to other points was credible. For example, it may be that follow up on some matters was verbal, and the record is incomplete. It seems the worst one can say is that Bush lost interest once his aircraft was set to be phased out, and that he was given latitude to make up drills. Since he was not going to be flying, it seems pretty innocuous. As several people have pointed out, with the Vietnam War winding down, there was a glut of flyers. Overall, kind of a dead horse.
