So what's your point? It was an FAA requirement. If your flying experience is true, then airline and/or a flight crew chose to ignore the rule. No different than speeding, driving drunk, illegal turns etc. The net result is that someone gets hurt.

The airplane doors were all locked during 9-11. Terrorists gained entry anyway. Today, even more stringent procedures are in place, armed guards are in the many cabins, the flight crews are more aware and the passengers will be far less cooperative than during 9-11.

It recently happened in Russia because they were still using 9-10 procedures. Now they aren't. El Al led the way. Others are slowly following.
