the local stations budgets are cut way back. you never see much of live in the field broad casts any longer. some local news on a shooting, fire, arrest. then to a film clip on national news or some other feed on health etc. You come to the weekend and you see the same local film clips from the week on some event , charity, again arrest. so.. I find the same on talk radio on Sunday and saturday.. for example they will replay hannity program over again from Friday. they will replay over local talk on Saturday afternoon. and of course all day Sunday is Frank Sanatra songs from 9am until midnight. if a snow storm or flood you see anchors appear from retirement to cover the various location throughout a metropolitan area vs stations carring the help. times have changed.. but then watching local stations produces nothing ,, crime, fires etc. there is no money for them to put something together . so you get pictures of new babies, a cook out.. but most of it is filler from national stations and then followed by national news with same clips.
