The difference between us, frankly, is that I am concerned with creating a better world, not in political slogans about "liberty as God's gift", etc, and engaging in self-congratulation about how great and superior we are. Iraq is a disintegrating mess. It is time to be clear. It is time to be honest. It is time to have a hard, glaring review of our policy in the middle east and a hard glaring review of the "war on terror", while there is still time to spare ourselves a generation of blood and war in an increasingly insecure and impoverished world. There is something wrong with our policies. There is something wrong with us -- we will not move forward until we deal with ourselves.
