In the history of the United States, the ONLY president that "ran and hid when he was a young man" while the country was at war was Bill Clinton.

Clinton did not use family influence to get undue advantage. He was a Rhodes scholar. And the only President "who ran and hid when he was a young man but at the end of his 4 year term presided over a booming economy and kept the terrorists for hit the US with a major terrorist attack. Two years into his second term, the people wanted to keep him on because he was doing the job the people had elected him to do and they thought that "lying" was no big deal as long as he did not kill someone but instead provided for life to flourish."
