Someone very close to PRST was very worried about the upcoming Print 97 show and competetive announcements which could severely damage PRST. The biggest concern surrounded announcements from Heidelberg and Kodak about a new technology called "Phase Change". My Kodak contact could make no comments due to the confidentiality agreements in place but he strongly suggested that I attend news conferences on Tuesday September 2 at noon hosted by Heidelberg and Wed. Sept. 3 at 10AM by Kodak. Neil, no one knows about any plans for Heidelberg to announce a new 4-Up DI press at Print 97. Remember, they had an opportunity to do so on an exclusive basis with PRST but passed allowing PRST to do a deal with Omni-Adast. Why would they come back now? More likely would be a re issue with new laser technology of the impressive GTO-DI imo. PS all I hear from good sources is that Imation is in a complete state of disarray, and will only add to PRST's PEARLsetter woes at this time.
