This is why you have such difficulty understanding my position -- I do not for one second believe there is nothing we can do to make the world a better place -- that is your personal view. Given your bleak assessment of the world as a place full of people that we must kill, no amount of pointless killing or bad policy that involves pointless killing offends or concerns you. What you utterly omit is the fact that OUR POLICIES play a role in creating the world you fear so much. You cannot imagine that we have a choice in this. You cannot imagine that we have made some truly awful choices for ourselves -- forgetting for a moment about the impact on other people. We need an honest discussion of what we are getting right and what we are getting wrong -- and then we need to look at our choices through that lense -- the one that asks how we can make the world a better place rather than the one that asks who we should kill next.
