Re-education camps? That is funny. 80% of the population was born after 1975 -- do you think they are sending children to reeducation camps? I am rarely in Vietnam for more than a couple of weeks at a time -- but my conversations include people from ten to seventy years of age -- I have spoken with hundreds of people there and have addressed audiences much larger than that. In Thailand, if you say anything bad about the King, you will go to jail. In Singapore, you can be jailed or whipped for minor matters involving free speech. Vietnam is no heaven on earth, to be sure, but your characterization is shallow and shows little understanding of their accomplishments in the time since we stopped killing them en masse.
