Except for the above, most of your post expresses only the desire to play a blame and smear game ... it is not productive, and more importantly not resolvable.

If you are interested in the choices still available that could lead to the creation of conditions leading to a better and safer world, then I think there is some benefit in discussing those options. I have told you what you could expect if you just walk away from Iraq to leave them to "self-determination". It would be brutal and would leave the people of Iraq without individual autonomy. It would also set the stage for a future super power who hates us.... but don't take my word for it. Look at the powerful forces in Iraq, read what their goals and intentions are, show me where I have mis-represented the facts or where I have missed some other likely out-come... I am convinced it is not hard to see and that I have pretty much described it in simple easy to understand language.

I am convinced that the path we are on 'could' lead to conditions that bring the Iraqi people into the world community in a safe and reasonable way, without compromising either their beliefs or culture. I think there is a lot more that needs to happen than simply establishing security forces before this can occur and we should be talking about what that would be.

Bottom line here is that you need to educate your self and honestly consider what the current conditions are before making pie in the sky declarations about what we should do about them.
