I am taking a look at the kerning thing.

Try this - open Word, use your largest size Times New Roman (mine is 72). Center, lowercase, type the word "moon", hit enter, type the word "mono." (Leave off the quotation marks.) If Word doesn't automatically adjust the spaces between the letters then the words should be exactly the same length.

But they're not; "mono" is a tad shorter than "moon."
