Evacuated to Orlando. The JW Marriott is accepting pets with a $75 cleaning fee. The hotel is full of dogs. My pup and kitty are happy that they are not at Miss Emily's Bed and Biscuit, the kennel I use in Orlando. The hotel may not be full so if anyone is thinking of coming here, call and guarantee the room so even if it takes you 18 hrs you will have a space.

If you have kids, it has great facilities for families, lazy river pool and all that and there is a Ritz Carlton Spa on the property which will help my frayed nerves this afternoon.

I think Marriott may have relaxed the rules on all its properties but you need to clarify. We did not get our usual upgrade because of the pets but I am happy to be here. BTW, it took 6 hrs yesterday to make the usual 3 hr. trip from Ft Myers to Orlando. Traffic was at a standstill around Tampa Bay.

My greatest hope is that Ivan somehow weakens before making landfall somewhere. I, of course, hope it misses Charlotte Harbor and Fort Myers but I do not wish it on anyone else.
