I have heard the argument that the GOP has always hated the social programs of FDR and Johnson and that includes Social Security and Medicare. If the people of this country can be sold something that they feel is more important than these programs, the money will be channeled into something else until a cataclysmic situation occurs. The President will have to tell the people that hard choices have to be made. That is, pay for the increased security we need to keep the terrorists from our soil or collect SS and Medicare.

Bush has sold many people on that issue already. If Bush is elected into a second term we may see the end of those programs as Medicare is already in a crisis situation.

Apparently, the very wealthy have the opinion that they are paying for these programs and are tired of it.

With the huge national debt, Bush's tax cut that disproportionately benefited the super wealthy, and the War on Terror are all parts of a package that will ultimately change the face of AMerica. The Bechtels and the Halliburtons are stealing the taxpayer's money right from under their unwatchful eyes. There is a large blackhole in Iraq and billions are unaccounted for. There are no laws that govern the expenditure of money that is carried out off American soil.Iraq is a a shopping mall for American dollars. They are bought with a little wink and a nod among friends.

One friend of my dentist is an engineer who helped an Iraqi company put together a bid to rebuild a bridge in Baghdad. Their bid was 50 million dollars. Bechtel won the contract with a 500 million dollar bid. They sub'd the contract to the Iraqi company for the 50 Million!!! Whatever Bechtel did with the 450 million is anyone's guess!! That's alot of Social Security checks!!!!!

Families will have to move their elderly parents into their own homes and support them when they can no longer exist independently.

I do feel sorry for these foolish, middle and lower class individuals that consider themselves part of the GOP. They have no idea what is being planned for them and will refuse to believe it if it was spelled out in front of them.

Changing times will be upon us if we don't stop this current trend.
