There are two other suppliers of DUV sources: Lamda Physik and Komatsu, I believe. It is not a 1 for 1 retrofit of laser for laser. If you consider the DUV system to comprise of 3 distinct pieces, Laser source, interface, and stepper, it appears that each laser source will require a modified interface to the stepper. Therefore there are no direct drop in replacements.

SVGI is not exactly cash rich and recently paid off IBM in order to regain full control of SVGL. At current prices, I do not know if SVGI can afford or wants to take an equity stake. Seems silly at this point since all the DUV manufacturers have equity stakes. None can be guarenteed delivery. I think the stake is so they can keep a closer eye out on CYMI and be able to more readily respond to changing conditions both internal and external to CYMI.
