I agree with that. There would be a great cost to survival. However, survival does have advantages over the alternative and ought to get some consideration.

I'm assuming that's because they know they can't prevail so they just lash out en extremis. Either that or they're just plain crazy. At least those are the only ways I can make sense of them. I can relate to nothing at all about them, which discomfits me no end.
