The US did continue to go after OBL after the Taliban were overthrown. It is likely that we killed him.

Your arguments in defense of Moore's assertion that we went into Afghanistan to get a pipeline and not because of the Taliban's providing a haven for Al Qaida are non-sensical.

The fact that Unocal negotiated with the Taliban in the '80's (and that energy companies routinely do business with repressive regimes) and that the Taliban was agreeable, actually demonstrates that it was not necessary to overthrow the Taliban to get the pipeline. So what you have posted is actually an argument against Moore's thesis. (Thanks btw, it makes it easy when the guy you argue with undercuts his own argument.)

Anyone who rules Afghanistan would agree to allow a pipeline across their territory because it would bring jobs and transit fees to a poor country.
