I find it interesting to debate people who disagree with me. I don't understand people who seem to need a safe echo chamber. I think it may be a sign of intellectual weakness or at least weakly rooted beliefs. By engaging people who disagree with me, I hope to show that their beliefs are mistaken and mine are more correct. If not to the public posters on the thread, perhaps to the lurkers, some of whom may be in the formative stages of forming their opinions. loser..stupid..ignorant.. To the childish name calling is comforting. But I don't think it convinces anyone of anything.
