He's worked for decades. I don't know how good his investments were...do you? He's the second husband of a widow. Obviously his wife is enjoying her position as HIS WIFE. By all accounts, she's one tough cookie and a very good campaigner. Do you think she should sit in her living room dressed in black sackcloth for the rest of her life? Bush pulls money that would have gone to states and municipalities when he decreases taxes. Since Bush's single-note economic plan for the USA is to decrease the taxes his BASE pays, the money has to come from somewhere. Rubin (let's get him back under Kerry) says that Bush's plan is a $10 trillion flip from where Clinton was headed. That's a $5 trillion surplus over a decade to a $5 trillion deficit. OUCH! Although things aren't labeled as "TAXES" they act in the same way as TAXES. They take discretionary monies away from people. Why do you think Bush LIED to HIS OWN PARTY EVEN about the actual cost of the Medicare Bill? His guys threatened the accountant for goodness sakes! His guys kept the debate open for hours so they could strong arm their own people for goodness sakes! Why was the Medicare Bill so controversial? Why is it so expensive? It includes a 33% profit increase for Drug Companies AND it prevents the US government from exercising its right as a capitalist force to negotiate better prices! HUH? How ridiculous is this? How corrupt is this? Oh yeah, the speculation is that Bush wants to make the cost of Medicare so high that the lower end of the income scale will just slide off the bottom. Who knows? He's pulled money out of Veteran's medical care even while we're at war. Why are you supporting this guy again? Actually, my household is a pretty darn (could always improve as technology improves) efficient user of resources. No one needs to drive a Humvee on the highway to commute to work...no one. The best defense against oil wars in the future is to NOT NEED OIL.
