And since so many people know this, most of us are about as interested in this story as we are in soy futures in Kazakhstan.

That same logic could be applied to most of the scandals. It could be applied to Clinton's fooling around or Kerry's resume padding. Whether one considers such things "scandalous" and makes a big deal of them is simple partisanship.
