Thanks, thats an interesting development. Makes you think that there is going to be a lot of awareness of internet phones that will be developed soon with big ad budgets and all. Java makes great sense for the "internet appliance" type device where you can have the system update the progam environment on the fly and having a very thin client device is necessary in order to keep the costs down. I think that the dynamics of marketing this the internet phone could be to just about give away the phone similar to the approach with cellular telephone but on a broader scale. It can be a "trojan horse" to deliver on-line directory and yellow pages ad services, caller ID, and a host of "push advertising". For instance, part of the display could be a bsnner add that said "It's almost Mother's day! Have you remembered Mom? It's not too late - send her flowers in a keepsake vase from FTD Florists. Just press the style you want on the touch screen."
