What typeface are you using? You need to use twelve point Times New Roman to test this.

Left justification is the default setting. It's easiest to see if you do as follows:

Mouse click view

Mouse click toolbars

Mouse click formatting

Then look at the upper right of the formatting toolbar. That shows you the font and the justification.
