Not sure what 'axe' they are supposed to be grinding....

They seem to be arguing that Bush is not REALLY a 'conservative' (certainly a fair interpretation considering his big spending, big deficit, and Big Government ways).

And that Kerry doesn't make much of a traditional 'liberal' either (considering the opposition of the ACLU, etc.)

I think what this seems to demonstrate best is that the very terms 'conservative' and 'liberal' have become so polluted and confused that they don't tell us very much that is useful anymore... for example, are you a 'fiscal conservative' or a 'social conservative'? They need not at all be the same thing.

Are you a 'conservative' or a 'liberal' if you stand up for the American Constitution?

Seems like BOTH major Parties are HUGE Fiscal Liberals now.

Also --- and extremely important --- the 'con/lib' question says NOTHING AT ALL about how one views the Reaganesque question of Big Government vs. leave the power to the people. (In other words: your attitude towards Authoritarianism.)
