36 US soldiers killed so far this month. The rate is actually slightly higher than that of 04/2003 i.e. the first full month of the invasion of Iraq.

And this in spite of the fact that the US troops are probably keeping away from trouble spots like police recruitment centers, where car bombs go off on a daily basis, killing dozens of locals almost every day.
