How's this for circular reasoning - a.k.a. affiming the consequent?

"the documents only prove what was already well known in insider circles. Which is why they are so credible."

AS says that if the CBS documents are genuine, then the attacks on Bush's guard record are valid; therefore, since the attacks are valid, the documents must be genuine. ;-)
