okay okay cow enough with he hardball tactics, my rock bottom offer is $400 <g>. notwithstanding, I do not think the average buyer could go out and get that same system for 500 or less though. Certainly not thru a 'standard' seller like Dell, etc. In any event, I had already gone out and bought a 100 gig backup hard drive before I reformatted so I could save the important files like, you know, the hundreds of , ah, work related mpegs and jpegs collected over the years of, ah, research. Oh and impotent spreadsheets too. In any event I think I'll get the hint and hand it off to a sibling. Families always seem to need a better second machine as the kids get the screamer for games etc and parents end up with old clunker. They'll be in like Flynn now. Interestingly, given the deal I got on my new package including all the big softee software I needed that I could not find to reinstall after reformatting, it's not a bad shake. Why spend 400 for just the software products needed when you can get all the hardware and bundled software for about double that?
