I think we can. Though the Administration doesn't seem to interested in discussing it.

I've thought all along that the better option is splitting the country into three parts, Kurd, Sunni, and Shia. The Kurdish area is the "easiest" [Forgetting about Turkey's objections.] Besides the religious separation, which isn't 100% clean, you probably have to make sure that each country gets a reasonable share of oil reserves.

Shiaa areas are largely unaffected as are the kurds.

I agree with the Kurdish north; I hesitate to agree on the Shiaa areas. I think the insurgency has spread well beyond the triangle. But the level of insurgency is germane, and I'm not prepared to argue that.
