Rather starting to back away: I believe the documents are authentic but "if" they are not....and once again, his only reason for believing them authentic is "the information in them is correct...it's an accurate view of Killian's thoughts & feelings at the time". (I'm paraphrasing here.) He also said that there IS an investigation going on! And when the interviewer (Lesley Stahl?) asked if he thinks an independent auditor should look at the memos, he said that would be up to CBS News President Andrew Heyward. Ya think? edit: Rather will be interviewing Killian's secretary on air tonight at 8.
