re: The only thing they want is our destruction. How can we do anything other than shoot to kill with these types of people?

And that's exactly what we need to do. There are what, at the high end 30K terrorists scattered among the billions of people around the globe. How do you get them with an army?

re: but you have to admit, there have been no attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11.

There have only been two in our entire history. And those were committed by the same guy, 8 years apart. The fear peddlers with their color coded paranoid levels would have you believe that a terrorist attack happens every week, or every month, or every year, instead of twice in our entire history.

If it was easy for a terrorist to attack the US, there would have been many more attacks before 9/11, as there were in other countries.

re: The U.S. has successfully taken the fight back to them in the Middle East, so we don't have to fight them on our soil.

Another sound bite that doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If you think it does, explain to me how our war in Iraq is keeping terrorist "off our soil".

No, Iraq has been a collosal mistake if you are looking to decrease terrorism. It's the newest petri dish for terrorists.
